As healthcare professionals, we spend our days caring for others in a fast paced, often under-resourced workplace. We rarely have time to process the difficult emotions that arise in response to caring for people in pain or the stresses of navigating complicated institutional structures. While self-care is often touted, it usually happens off the job. On the other hand, self-compassion is a skill that can help us on the job.
This adaptation of the Mindful Self-Compassion Course was designed with busy professionals time constraints in mind. Run over 6 hours, this course takes into context the environment in which we work, our unique stressors and connects us with those who understand what it is like to work in “the system.”
The Mindful Self-Compassion was one of the most healing courses I have ever taken and it is an honour to bring this adapted version to my colleagues.
